"If you don’t look after yourself, you’ll go blind and lose your toes!"
That was the warning I received—firm and unforgettable—when I was diagnosed with diabetes in the early ’90s. It hit me hard. But instead of giving in to fear, I made a promise to myself: that wouldn’t be my story.
So, what does that have to do with yoga?
Everything.
Yoga taught me how to understand my body—not just physically, but spiritually. It became the foundation for how I live, move, and heal. With the guidance of some of the best mentors in the field, I started sharing what I’d learned, helping others connect with their bodies through movement. But I didn’t stop there. I became deeply curious about the emotional side of movement—how our thoughts and feelings show up in our posture, tension, and pain. That led me to study Somatic Movement and Neuromuscular Therapy.
This was the game changer. I saw how our bodies reflect our minds. How stress, fear, or joy can physically shape us. How pain can be a message—not just a symptom. And how, when we tune in, we can shift from simply existing to truly living. I live by this phrase:
“What’s in the mind is in the body.”
Most people move through life on autopilot, disconnected from what their body is really telling them. But we’re sensory beings. Every moment sends us signals—most of which we ignore. Over time, those signals stack up, and the body speaks louder: with stiffness, fatigue, or pain. My work is about helping people reconnect. To listen. To move better. To feel better. To live fully in their bodies—not just get through the day. It’s what helped me protect my own health. It’s what drives how I care for my clients, students, family, and myself. If you’re ready to move from surviving to thriving, let’s work together.
